Live coverage: BYU football hosts Arizona state

The Cougars took control of this game after a second quarter of 14 points.

BYU topped an 83-yard drive in six games with a 34-yard touchdown pass from Jaren Hall to Gunner Romney on a rigged play to take a 14-7 lead. The Cougars then scored in their next practice, racking up 74 yards in eight games before Isaac Rex picked up a 14-yard touchdown to make it a two-point game.

The Cougars totaled 191 offensive yards in the second quarter compared to Arizona State’s 63. Hall completed 9 of 16 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the final 20 seconds of the half, while Jayden Daniels of the Sun Devils completed 13 of 18 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.

BYU 7, Arizona State 7

Arizona State moved the ball more, but it’s 7-7 after a quarter in Provo.

BYU scored the first on a 4-yard run from Tyler Allgeier after ASU missed the kickoff. The Sun Devils responded with a 75-yard run that ended with a 1-yard touchdown from Rachaad White.

The Sun Devils dominated statistically, however, with 137 yards at 12 for BYU. ASU quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 7 of 8 passes for 110 yards.
