Live Nation allows artists to require vaccination or proof of negative test result for concerts in the United States

As the live music industry resumes operations as the Covid-19 variant spreads across the world, Live Nation has released a “best practices” document to artist teams for its events.

According to the document, which was obtained by Variety, artists performing in its theaters may require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test to enter, and as of October 4, “all employees in the United States [must] be vaccinated to enter any of our events, locations or offices – with limited exceptions that may be required by law. The document was signed by Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.

Since Covid protocols vary from state to state, practices for live events have also varied. But as the variant continues to disrupt lives and livelihoods around the world, Live Nation – the world’s largest live entertainment company – has obviously seen fit to put some standard practices in place.

It has been great to see events making such a strong comeback across the United States as the demand for concerts and festivals continues to exceed our expectations.

LIVE NATION SHOWS

We are working to make sure that we reopen in the best possible way for the staff, artists, team, fans and communities in general. Our teams worked together to put in place new processes so that artists performing with Live Nation in the United States can require all attendees and staff to be fully vaccinated or test negative for entry, where permitted by law. We think this is a great model, and we have already implemented it successfully in many major salons, including Lollapalooza. We know people are eager to come back to the live events and we hope these measures will encourage even more people to get vaccinated. This is the first thing anyone can do to take care of their surroundings and we encourage as many salons as possible to adopt this model.

EMPLOYEE VAX REQUIREMENT

In support of this model and to continue to lead by example, we will require that all employees in the United States be vaccinated to enter any of our events, locations or offices – with limited exceptions like the law l ‘required. This requirement will come into effect on October 4, when our offices reopen for flexible working and to allow on-site staff to get vaccinated for a few weeks if they haven’t already. HR will share more details on this soon. As a reminder, we offer an additional paid day off for each dose so you can easily schedule your appointments. So far we have seen great enthusiasm for vaccination among our staff and we want to make sure that we are taking all possible measures to keep you safe.
