Young staff member of Senator Kelly Loeffler’s team died in car crash, Loeffler, R-Ga. confirmed, identifying him Friday as Harrison Deal.

“My heart hurts for his family, and Jeff and I will continue to surround them with love and prayer in the days to come,” she said. “Harrison was a beloved member of our campaign team. Most importantly, Harrison was a smart, bright, loving, loyal and exceptional young man.
After the news, Loeffler returned to Atlanta and missed a campaign event featuring Vice President Mike Pence in Savannah.
Senator David Perdue, R-Ga., Who is also campaigning for a Senate run-off in January, said Deal had already interned for him.
Loeffler and Perdue will face Democratic opponents Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff, respectively, in two Georgia playoffs on January 5, which will decide which party controls the Senate.
