Bisouma enters UCL

Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma has admitted his “dream” is to play Champions League football.

Bissouma was linked with Liverpool as well as other Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United this summer and appeared destined to leave the Seagulls.

But the Malian midfielder stayed behind at the Amex stadium and helped Graham Potter’s side get off to a good start to the season.

Bissouma’s latest comments suggest that an exit from Brighton cannot be ruled out, however, as he aims to compete in the elite European competition.

“I haven’t been there this summer, maybe it’s because now is not the time for me to go,” he told Brighton and Hove Albion.

“When my time comes, it’s my time, but I’m happy in Brighton, I love to play football.

“My dream is like all players, I want to play in the Champions League, I want to be champion.

“I want to compare myself at the highest level, not just with other players.”
