LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced that 40 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Lancaster County on Monday, bringing the community total to 31,830.
The health department received a notification on Monday of a death that was not captured in the tracking system. The death occurred in April 2021 and was a man in his 50s who was at home. The total number of deaths in the community has risen to 242.
Vaccinations administered (the vaccination target is 75%):
- Vaccinations initiated (first doses): 180,850
- Vaccinations completed (second doses and J&J vaccine): 171,381
- Residents aged 16 and over fully vaccinated: 67.4%

The more people who are vaccinated, the less chance the virus and its variants will be able to spread. The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective. It provides protection against the virus, prevents serious illness and saves lives. Residents 12 and older are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and appointments are available for this week. Residents can register and make an appointment for the vaccination at COVID19.lincoln.ne.gov. Residents can also find a local pharmacy offering vaccinations at vaccines.gov or by texting their zip code to 438829.
Those who do not have online access or need help with registration or planning can call the LLCHD COVID-19 hotline at 402-441-8006 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

- Wednesday July 21, Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, 3131 “O” St. – first and second doses
- Thursday July 22, First United Methodist Church, 2723 N. 50th St. – first and second doses
- Friday July 23 Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Unit – first and second doses
Laboratory-confirmed cases reported over the weekend: 60 (44 Saturday, 16 Sunday)
Hospitalizations of COVID-19 positive patients: 32 including 20 from Lancaster County (2 on ventilators) and 12 from other communities (6 on ventilators).
Risk dial: Green, signifies a minimal and controlled level of COVID-19 in Lancaster County, which means transmission is low.

- Bryan Health: Tests are available without an appointment at all three Bryan Urgent Care facilities, 7501 S. 27th St., 5901 N. 27th St., and 4333 S. 86th St. To check wait times, call 402-481- 6343.
- CHI Health: Walk-in tests are available at three priority care locations: Antelope Creek, 2510 S. 40th St., Suite 100, Southwest, 1240 Aries Drive. Stevens Creek, 1601 N. 86th St. For driving tests, Virtual Rapid Care is available 24/7 at CHIHealth.com to chat with a provider and schedule a test appointment.
- Several pharmacies, including CVS, HyVee, and Walgreens, as well as other healthcare provider offices and emergency care clinics also offer testing. If a person is uninsured or underinsured, they can call the COVID-19 hotline at 402-441-8006 and the health department will connect them with testing resources.
