Local teenager opens donation center for new parents and infant care – FOX23 News

HARTSHORNE, Oklahoma. – A 14-year-old girl in Pittsburg has opened a local center where new parents can pick up all the supplies they need for their newborn baby.

Paisley Winslow came up with the idea for Paisley’s Precious Babies after noticing a need for new parents and young families.

“There are a lot of people out there who need help, and I just wanted to give back,” Winslow told FOX23.

She started with an empty closet and started asking for donations from the public. In no time, the closet was filled to the brim with baby clothes, formula, diapers, bottles and other essential supplies new parents need for their newborns.

” Everything is free. They don’t have to pay for anything, ”Winslow said.

Local parents like Brittany Stephens see Paisley’s precious babies as a lifeline for young families.

“We spend around $ 300 on formula per month,” Stephens told FOX23. She explained that coping with the cost of raising a family can be a struggle for new parents, especially in the midst of a pandemic.

“Everyone comes in and out of work,” she said.

Stephen’s visited Paisley’s Precious Babies for its grand opening on Sunday to receive much-needed supplies for their newborn baby.

“I’m just really grateful,” Stephens said. “It’s really cool that she cares about people so much that she doesn’t even know.”
