The majority of Californians adapt to new curfew restrictions ordered by Governor Gavin Newsom.

From Saturday, November 21 to December 21, people belonging to the purple state level are to stay in their homes between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

People can leave their homes between these hours for essential reasons only. The order can be extended if cases do not improve.

The people of North Park have shared mixed emotions about the stay-at-home limited order.

“I don’t think people are going to listen, people are going to do what they are going to do,” said Cesar Marinez of Paradise Hills.

“I mean everything you have to do to get back to as ‘normal’ a level as possible,” replied Carina Amador d’Escondido.

According to Governor Newsom, the order aims to curb the peak in COVID-19 cases while slowing hospitalizations.

Amador said she thinks the command might work.

“I think so. It will make people stay more at home, they wouldn’t be as forced to go out or forced,” he said.

Ari Shier, of Pacific Beach, said she would be back at 10 p.m. because businesses were ordered to comply with the curfew, but she is not sure the order will help reduce case.

“I don’t think this is a drastic change that we are implementing. I don’t think people are going to listen to it either, ”Shier said.

While some people comply with it, others oppose it.

Russ Taylor said he created a group called “Curfew Breakers” and led rallies across the state against curfews, including in San Diego County.

“The goal here is to show Gavin Newsom that he won’t be controlling other people and that we will take to the streets every night if we have to and we won’t give in,” Taylor said.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department said it would respond to calls from people defying the order and explained that it hopes to educate and get people to comply voluntarily first.

Those who do not comply can be sentenced up to $ 1,000 or six months in prison. The San Diego Police Department has said it will conduct educational measures at this time.
