(Reuters) – The Vermont offices in Montpellier were lifted on Friday after a search by police found no armed men or weapons, the governor's office said in a statement.

The lock order was issued earlier in the afternoon after the announcement of a possible armed man entering a state building. US cities remain on the alert for such reports after a series of high-profile shootings.
