The architects unveil the design of a space hotel that aims to have 100 guests in the stars of 2025 here

The designs of the first commercial hotel that will look like a "cruise ship" have been unveiled and they are truly extraordinary.

The Van Braun Space Station is designed by Tim Alatorre, Gateway Foundation, and will feature gravity, functional kitchens, bars and natural interiors.

According to the architect in charge of the project design, it should be "operational by 2025 with 100 tourists a week."

Just like Zenon: Daughter of the 21st century imagined a world ready to live in space, travelers will soon be able to enjoy their own galactic vacation in the stars of the hotel, which strangely resembles the space station of the Disney movie of 1999.

"Finally, going into space will be just another option that people will choose for their vacation, like for a cruise or going to Disney World," Alatorre explained to Dezeen. "The goal of the Gateway Foundation is to make the Von Braun operational by 2025 with 100 tourists visiting the resort each week."

He continued, "Since the overall costs are still so high, most people think that space tourism will only be available to the very rich, and although I think this will be true for the next few years, the Gateway Foundation has for the purpose of creating space. Travel open to all.

Boosting the technology of the International Space Station, the Von Braun Space Station will be endowed with an artificial gravity that will distinguish it from the ISS. Its design is based on concepts developed by Wernher von Braun in the 1950s.

A wheel of 190 meters in diameter will turn to create a gravitational force similar to that felt on the moon. 24 individual modules are located around the steering wheel and are filled with sleeping arrangements.

Alatorre added: "There will also be many things you will see on cruise ships: restaurants, bars, concerts, film screenings and educational seminars."

The architect anticipates that the station will house about 400. Some modules of the station will be sold as private residences while governmental and scientific agencies will be able to rent the others.

Inside, the interiors will be made of natural materials and offer visitors a comfortable and friendly experience.

"Advances in materials science now make it possible to replace stone and wood with lightweight, easily cleanable natural materials that would normally be impossible to put into orbit," said Alatorre.

"The use of fabrics, lighting and warm-colored paints and textured materials allows us to connect and feel at home. Because the station will have gravity, there will be a sense of direction and direction that is not present in the ISS. & # 39;

The toilets will work properly at the hotel and the showers will use recycled water. The food will be served in standard restaurants.

"We are planning full service kitchens with all the dishes you would expect on a luxury cruise liner or in a big hotel," added Alatorre. "A lot of the logistical problems associated with the restoration were solved years ago by the cruise ship industry."

After the completion of this space hotel, the Gateway Foundation plans to expand further.

"Beyond 2030, the Von Braun station is a proof of concept for the Gateway Foundation's next project, a class of stations called The Gateway, which will house more than 1,400 people," said Alatorre.

"These will be real space cities that will stop for those coming and going from the Moon and Mars."
