And from that moment, Colman's acting career was getting better and better. Since the mid-2000s, she has appeared on several popular TV shows, including "Broadchurch", "Fleabag" and "The Night Manager" – having received BAFTA TV awards for many of her performances. She has also appeared in several movies, including "Hot Fuzz", "The Lobster" and "Murder on the Orient Express".
Although Colman has won numerous awards for his work in the past, it seems his Oscar win on Sunday really caught him off guard.
"It's really very stressful.It's hilarious.I have an Oscar," said Colman Sunday. In a follow-up interview after the victory, Colman confessed to reporters that she had not prepared any of her speeches and that she was caught off guard by the victory.
Sunday's ceremony marked the first time Colman had been nominated for an Academy Award, and the first time she had won one. Colman faced personalities such as Yalitza Aparicio, Melissa McCarthy, Lady Gaga and favorite, favorite, Glenn Close.
Although the actress said comically in her thank you speech that this Oscar win "will not happen again", it seems unlikely that Colman will leave people's radar anytime soon.
In the coming months, Colman is expected to replace her compatriot Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's "The Crown". She should also play in the thriller "Them That Follow" and resume her role in the British comedy BBC, "Fleabag".
