The news bureau has compiled a list of events taking place over the coming week that are open to the public. The list includes a three-day concert festival, networking and interactive opportunities for University of Georgia students, and the UGA’s largest annual day of community service.

The Segar Jazz Affair Smooth Jazz Concert with saxophonist J. Henry

What: The Segar Jazz Affair concert series will feature live smooth jazz from saxophonist J. Henry. Tickets cost $ 15.

Nature hikers

What: The Nature Ramblers is open to everyone to learn about the natural areas, flora, and fauna at the Georgia State Botanical Garden. The event will be hosted by retired conservation botanist Linda Chafin, biologist and naturalist Dale Hoyt and Don Hunter, photographer and naturalist. This event is recurring every week from Thursday to November 18. The event is free, but donations are accepted.

September Day Festival

What: Three-day festival for all ages featuring bands and artists including Nicholas Mallis and Modern Skirts with food trucks. Tickets cost $ 15 in advance, $ 20 at the door per day for ages 13 and over, or $ 35 for three days. Children under 12 get free admission and $ 1 off each ticket to donate to the non-profit AthFest Educates.

What: Groups will visit service sites and work on service projects to celebrate the UGA’s largest annual day of community service to provide students with the chance to make a positive impact in the community. RSVP on Facebook.

When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Groups will start departing at 10 a.m. for service sites and on-campus and off-campus service projects will end at 1 p.m.

“After Fest” Saturday

What: The Flicker Theater and Bar is hosting “After Fest” with musical performances by Neighbor Lady Karaoke, Honeypuppy and Pinkest. Attendance is limited and masks are required at all times indoors when you are not actively drinking. Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event is required along with a corresponding photo ID. Tickets cost $ 15.
