M Night Shyamalan released a trailer for his new movie Old, which is located on a beach that mysteriously ages people quickly.

With the likes of Gael García Bernal (And your mother too), Vicky Krieps (Phantom wire) and Rufus Sewell (The man of the high castle), the first sequence presents a typically scary thriller.

Filed during last night’s Super Bowl (February 7), the clip shows the characters settling in for a vacation on the secluded beach, before things take a darker turn.

The synopsis describes it as “a creepy and mysterious new thriller about a family on a tropical vacation who discovers that the secluded beach where they relax for a few hours makes them age quickly … reducing their entire lives to just one day.”

Shyamalan unveiled for the first time Old in September, sharing the title along with some artwork and a behind-the-scenes photo as he tweeted, “It’s like a miracle that I find myself here shooting the foreground of my new movie. It’s called Old. “

The thriller will also star Ken Leung, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Abbey Lee, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Embeth Davidtz, Eliza Scanlen, Emun Elliott, Kathleen Chalfant and Thomasin McKenzie.

Next to Old, the director was also executive producer of the Apple TV + series Servant, which he will finish after four seasons.

Opening up to his decision to end the show earlier than expected, he recently said Digital spy: “When I launched it, I was thinking of launching it, and I was going to supervise it. But I was having so much fun I was like, ‘Uh … let me edit this. Just let me talk to the composer. Let me do this. Let the effects come to me first. I’ll be in the mix.

“I spent all this time on it. I think I feel more comfortable saying a four year commitment than a six year commitment to be involved. I can see the finish line. I can commit to this level. “

Shyamalan added that doing four seasons would allow him to ‘finish well’, adding: ‘I don’t want to feel that’ he limped across the finish line when he was actually trying to do something else ‘- this would be sad. “
