WARREN, me. – Macomb County is stepping up efforts to get more people vaccinated against COVID-19.

A new clinic will open Monday at the Southwest Health Center at the Majestic Plaza, located on Van Dyke Avenue, just north of I-696 in Warren.

This is the fourth COVID vaccination site affiliated with Macomb County County.

Other sites in the county include the Verkuilen Building mass vaccination site in Clinton Township, the Richmond-Lenox EMS drive-thru site, and the Sterling Heights Senior Center site.

County officials said the new location of the Majestic Plaza was chosen to be as accessible as possible.

“That way it makes it more convenient. The drive is less, it’s just around the corner, it’s a recognized building that has been in the community, serving the community, ”said Andrew Cox, director of the Macomb County health department . “I think it only makes sense for us to get something from the south side.”

The clinic will not be open for walk-in visits and appointments must be made. You can get an appointment on the Macomb County website here.
