KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 – As part of Merdeka's celebrations next month, Istana Budaya looks at the early arrival of Chinese immigrants to Malaysia in a forthcoming theatrical production.

Tanah Akhirku is told through the lens of a young woman named Yin Feng who fled mainland China after the outbreak of the civil war and arrives in British Malaysia with her mother and his younger brother to work as tin miners

A collaborative effort between Gold Ray Sdn Bhd, Istana Budaya and the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara), the upcoming production is directed by Ashraf Zainal and the stars Lim Mei Fen, Erma Fatima , Islam Izzue, Nina Nadira, Nave VJ and Angeline Tan.
