Patrick Schwarzenegger, Miles Robbins and Sasha Lane join the thriller "Daniel Is not Real"

Adam Egypt Mortimer directs his second feature film, Miles Robbins also playing a lead role.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver; Miles Robbins, who appeared in Blockers earlier this year; American Honey break star Sasha Lane; and Hannah Marks will play in the supernatural thriller Daniel Is not Real

The indie, which is produced by Elijah Wood, is the second feature film by writer and director Adam Egypt Mortimer ( Kind of hatred ). SpecterVision and ACE Pictures Produce Daniel Is not Real, who sees a troubled freshman, Luke (Robbins), suffer from violent family trauma and resurrect his imaginary boyfriend of Daniel's childhood (Schwarzenegger) to help him cope. Daniel helps Luke realize his dreams, pushing him to the edge of mental health and desperately fighting for control of his mind and soul.

The indie, currently shooting in New York, is based on the novel This way I was saved by Brian DeLeeuw, who co-wrote the manuscript with Mortimer .

"Daniel Is not Real is a supernatural thriller stylized, sexy and emotionally nuanced." Wood, co-founder and partner of SpectreVision / Company X, said Tuesday in a statement .

The photo is also produced by Daniel Noah, Josh C Waller and Lisa Whalen. Timur Bekbosunov, Johnny Chang, Emma Lee and Peter Wong and Stacy Jorgensen share executive producer credits.

Schwarzenegger is rewritten by UTA and Management 360; Robbins is with CAA and Authentic Talent & Literary Management; Lane is rewritten by WME, The Long Run and Gray Krauss Sandler Des Rochers; and Marks is reissued by UTA, Untitled and Bloom Hergott Diemer.

Mortimer is taken over by 3 Arts Entertainment and ICM Partners.
