Richard Koh Fine Art in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia presents a selection of works by Chinese artist Sun Xun. The show featuring watercolor drawings and stop-motion animation films runs until August 14th.
Xun is one of China's most talented young emerging artists and his works clearly reflect his artistic practice. It's a combination of meticulous craftsmanship in traditional and avant-garde artistic expression. Sun Xun (born 1980) was born in an industrial mining town of Fuxin during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. His recent exhibitions have taken place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York; the Shanghai Biennale, Shanghai; and The Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver. Sun Xun's work is part of museums and international art institutions, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Asia Society, New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; and Hammer Museum, Los Angles among others. His films have been screened in numerous festivals around the world, including the 25th Torino Film Festival, Turin; and the 53rd International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
