Hip hop veterans The Black Eyed Peas have teamed up with K-pop singer CL for an exciting new collaboration.

The track Dopeness, produced by the band’s member will.i.am, is off the group’s long-awaited new album titled Masters Of The Sun and features the singer’s stand-out vocals.

While there had been reports of CL working with the American group on new music, the official tracklist for Masters Of The Sun confirms that Dopeness is track six on their seventh studio album.

CL also features in the accompanying music video, which already has almost 170,000 views.

According to CL’s management agency YG Entertainment, the other band members, apl.de.ap and Taboo, also took part in the making of the song.

CL, whose real name is Lee Chae-rin, collaborated with the Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am on his solo track, Gettin’ Dumb, back in 2013.

She has also teamed up with members of the Black Eyed Peas for performances at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), as well as the 2017 Summer Sonic Festival in Japan.

Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo recently explained why the group had fallen for the K-pop hype.

‘We just love international music. We love the climate of that sound. It’s that pulse that we just have to appreciate,’ he told Metro.co.uk

‘I am glad to see K-pop really pop off and it’s cool to see how it’s become an international craze. It’s amazing how people may not be Korean [but] they still take part in the experience and it is kind of cool.’

Of the new album, he added: ‘We have been performing, expressing new experiences, and new songs and new facial expressions. It’s good to have something new in the market.’

In support of their new record, the Black Eyed Peas will embark on the Masters Of The Sun tour in the UK and Europe on 27 October. The nine-date jaunt will kick off in London and wrap up in Germany on 18 November.
