The world has lost its mind since Lady Gaga broke the news of being engaged, despite wearing her ring unnoticed for more than nine months.
While being honored at the Women In Hollywood Awards hosted by Elle magazine in Beverly Hills on Monday, the 32-year-old singer confirmed her engagement with Christian Carino, 49, by thanking him as her “fiance”.
After this moment, everyone finally noticed the engagement ring adorned on Lady Gaga’s left hand, which is estimated to be valued at a whopping $1.9 m if it’s a pink diamond.
“The pink stone could either be a fancy pink diamond or pink sapphire,” Katie Zimmerman, Chief Merchandising Officer of diamond jewelers Blue Nile, told DailyMail.com.
She continued: “The intensity and color saturation of the pink hue in a stone this size could be valued up to $1,586,000 – $1.9million if it’s a diamond and $396,000 if it’s a sapphire.
“Looking at the photographs of the ring, the intensity and saturation of color in the pink stone and brilliance in all the stones framing it, indicate excellent quality.”
Using a colored diamond or gemstone is reportedly very popular right now for engagement rings.
The style has been a favorite among the Royal Family with Prince Charles creating a blue sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds for Princess Diana before the ring was given to the Duchess of Cambridge, 36, by Prince William.
Princess Eugenie, 28, who just got married last week, also has a colorful gemstone at the center of her engagement ring.
“(The ring) is very reflective of Lady Gaga’s personality, bold and risk-taking paired with rich femininity,” Katie said.
Reports of Lady Gaga’s engagement to Christian first popped up in November 2017, but none of it was confirmed or denied until the Elle event.
Instead, fans have been focused on the singer’s breakout role in A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper, 43.
But now everyone is noticing the stunning engagement ring.
The large pink gemstone sits cushioned between a circle of diamonds creating a flowered design fit for the Mother Monster.
If the pink stone is not a diamond, Katie revealed it could be a Padparadscha sapphire.
“Setting a stone like this in a frame (halo) setting with diamonds of that size takes a rather traditional setting and exaggerates the look, just like her bold, groundbreaking personality,” she said.
Andrew Brown, President of WP Diamonds, told E! News the center stone looks to be as large as six or seven carats. But he believes it is a sapphire and priced the ring at $793,000.
Lady Gaga was first spotted wearing the ring during the Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden in New York City on January 28.
Since then, she has worn the ring to a variety of events while she promoted A Star Is Born, including the UK movie premiere.
Although the engagement with talent agent Christian is out in the open, the couple remains rather secretive about when and where they are planning to tie the knot officially.
