The world's largest Nickelodeon indoor amusement park is set to open in Chongqing, China.
The 28,000 square meter entertainment area will be located in the heart of the huge Mall of China complex, which will open 2020. The park will be developed by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) in collaboration with the Jiayuan Group , China Creation Group and Triple Five Group. The latter is already operating a Nickelodeon Universe Park at the Mall of America in Minnesota, and soon the American Dream Mall in New Jersey.
Visitors to the Mall of China will enjoy 29 rides and attractions featuring 14 intellectual properties of Nickelodeon (IP). These include the first tipping tower in Asia and the TMNT roller coaster, which will apparently be the tallest, fastest and longest inland roller coaster in the world. Other IP addresses will include SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and PAW Patrol
"Creating immersive consumer experiences in the field remains an important part of our business "says VIMN's Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region. Mark Whitehead. "As we continue to develop the footprint of Nickelodeon theme parks, I am confident that this will open new opportunities for the Nickelodeon brand and our partners across multiple platforms in this important Chinese market."
