KUALA LUMPUR: Public Bank Bhd It is associated with Revenue Group Bhd to launch all-in-one digital payment terminals, which will be available on Friday.

In a joint statement released Thursday, the payment terminal, developed by Revenue, will allow physical retailers to accept both card payments and mobile wallet payments in a single digital payment terminal.

The terminal is powered by the Android operating platform and has a wide range of connectivity, including 3G, 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth networks. It comes with a high definition color touch screen and a super fast thermal printer. It also generates electronic transaction reports every business day to improve operational efficiency.

Tan Sri Tay Ah Lek, CEO of Public Bank, said the digital payment terminal was another ongoing initiative in Public Bank's digital process.

"By the end of September 2018, Public Bank had more than 60,000 electronic data capture (EDC) terminals in the country.

"The bank will continue its strategy of increasing its merchant base and adding new acceptance services," Tan said.

Eddie Ng Chee Siong, General Manager of Revenue and General Manager of the group, said the payment terminal will allow its customers to more efficiently manage various types of payments.

Payment Terminals can manage Quick Response (QR) code-based mobile payment services, including Alipay, Boost, Touch & Go, UnionPay QR and WeChat Pay, as well as card payments such as Visa, MasterCard, MyDebit, JCB and UnionPay, for payment management. simpler and more effective for physical retailers.

Physical retailers will be able to accept payments through multiple channels including QR codes, near field communications, smart cards and traditional magnetic stripe cards.

Also present at the launch were Deputy CEO of Datuk Chang Kat Kiam Public Bank; Senior General Manager, Retail Financial Services of Chan Chiew Peng Public Bank; Brian Ng Shih Chiow, director of operations of Revenue Group, and Dino Ng Shih Fang, chief technology officer of the group.
