KUALA LUMPUR : The Ministry of Health will continue its study on the effectiveness of the Dengvaxia vaccine against dengue before allowing its use by the country's doctors.
Dr. Lee Boon Chye, Deputy Minister of Health, stated that before the vaccine can be licensed, its safety, effectiveness and cost.
"The vaccine has not been registered yet and it is still under study, whether the government uses it or not will depend on its cost.This February, the Minister of Health Datuk Seri, said that Dengvaxia was not used in the country because its effectiveness against dengue fever had not been verified yet and expressed the need for a study to be performed.
