GEORGE TOWN: Another state school has been ordered to close due to an outbreak of foot and mouth disease (HFMD).
Shij Chung Cawangan received a notice of closing business days from Wednesday, July 11.
The statement issued by the Department of Public Health under section 18 (1) (d) of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, 1988 states that Dr. Wan Mansor Hamzah, Health state director, said that the latest update of the GFMD statistics was that to date (July 10), 1,679 cases were reported this year.
