"High as Hope" could be considered as Florence Welch's quarter-life crisis album.
The singer of Florence + the Machine has had her ups and downs since her release in 2009 with her first album. "Lungs." There have been three albums at the top of the UK charts and a headline series at Glastonbury, but also detours and doubts about his personality
On High as Hope, Welch collects traces of his youth with tentative hope. Lyrical, it's a delight: thoughtful, ironic and sad. Musically, it retains the extravagance that Welch fans adore: big hooks embedded in a wall of sound
There are heaps of opera dramas, but the greatest pleasures of the world. album often come in subtle moments. The opening song "June" begins with a sigh, before swelling in a whirlwind of strings to an exhortation: "Hang on to each other."
"Sky Full of Song", released as a single, pares the musical shrubs and Welch's voice conveys regret and exaltation, while she sings: "Catch me by the ankles, I flies too long. "

The album ends on a sweet and ambivalent note with "No Choir", which suggests that Welch found a measure of peace – for better or for worse. "It's hard to write to be happy," she sings. "Happiness is an extremely simple subject."

Jim James. "Uniform distortion."
Jim James, the singer of My Morning Jacket, gives us his thoughts on the love, the life and the vagaries of our modern world focused on social media on his fourth solo album, the "Uniform Distortion". and catchy hooks combined with his mesmerizing signature voice, James delivers a quite engaging, hard-ahead, straight-ahead record that almost looks like a return to a different era while being very current.
Or, as he sings on "Out of Time": "I'm either late, or ahead of time or maybe I'm out of time, no luck."
Who can not relate to the first single, "Just a Time Fool," when James sings, "Just a fool fend for himself / Just a fool who's fine."
The record's title, "Uniform Distortion ", combines perfectly with the cover image from a 1971" Whole Earth Catalog "a person hidden behind what appears to be a blinding light. Considered with music, it sends the message that all of us, and everything around us, is distorted.
The question that James is grappling with, and that listeners have to think about, is what are we going to do about it?
