Paso Robles woman reported her husband threatened her with a gun
PASO ROBLES – On September 30, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department of San Luis Obispo responded to a call regarding domestic disturbances in Block 100 of Grace Drive in Whitley Gardens.
A woman said her husband made threats against her and shot a gun outside their home. The wife remained in a trailer on the property while the husband roamed the property until MPs showed up at the scene.
The suspect, identified as Darren Lowry, 55, of the Paso Robles countryside, retreated inside the house. At one point, the suspect came out of the house and pointed a gun at a California Highway Patrol (CHP) helicopter, which was overhead to assist MPs.
A 911 reverse SMS was sent to the immediate area for residents to take shelter in place. A perimeter has been set up. Several sheriff’s deputies responded with the help of CHP officers.
Specially trained members of the Sheriff’s Tactical Bargaining Team were able to make contact with Lowry. The suspect eventually got out of the house, where he was taken into custody. Lowry was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon involving a gun and criminal threats and was incarcerated in the county jail.
