PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) – Virginia State Police said a man was killed after his vehicle pulled off the road on I-95 on Saturday afternoon.

Officers responded to milepost 46 for a motor vehicle around 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Investigators say a sedan was heading south when it pulled off the road to the right and struck trees.

State Police said a man was the only person in the car at the time and died of his injuries at the scene. The identification of the deceased is pending a positive identification and notification to the family, but VSP adds that he was wearing his seat belt.

Authorities do not believe that any other car or person was involved in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
