ALPENA – On Monday, Alpena courts indicted a man linked to the owner of the property where police last week found the body of missing Alpena teenager Brynn Bills.

Brad Srebnik, 35, was brought to trial in the 88th Alpena District Court for unlawful imprisonment for unlawfully possessing a person with a weapon and illegal possession of a firearm, in connection with an incident on September 27.

Alpena County District Attorney Cynthia Muszynski has confirmed that Srebnik is the same person named as a witness in court documents related to the September 27 arrest of Joshua Wirgau of Alpena Township.

Wirgau faces charges of unlawful imprisonment and assault with a dangerous weapon. The charges, stemming from a September 21 incident, are not directly related to Bills’ death, police say.

Court documents mention the same person as the victim in both incidents.

Police last week found what they believe to be Bills’ body, buried in the backyard of Alpena township in Wirgau.

Police have indicated that Wirgau is a person of interest in the investigation into Bills’ death.

Srebnik is incarcerated in the Presque Isle County Jail. Muszynski did not want to say why Srebnik is not housed in Alpena County or whether she expects new charges for either of the accused.
