An Afghan refugee who escaped the Taliban 20 years ago is fighting for the safe return of his family amid the collapse of Afghanistan.
Mansur, who now lives in the United States, told America’s Newsroom on Wednesday four members of his family are currently stranded in Afghanistan and warned President Biden not to trust the Taliban and to “fall into their lies” .
“I hope and pray that the president hears this… he understands that we all have family members. We are all human. We are all trying. We all want our families to be safe,” Mansur said. “Don’t fall for their lies, listen to their stories and do what you can to get as many people to come out safe, including these four beautiful people of mine, please. “

Meanwhile, thousands of Americans and Afghan allies are scrambling to get to Kabul airport to board evacuation flights following the Taliban takeover. However, not everyone passed the checkpoints, including Mansur’s family.
The Afghan refugee stressed that his family members only lived about a kilometer or two from the airport, and when they arrived they waited in a huge queue to be treated.
Due to the extremely long wait, Mansur’s family had to stay overnight to complete the process the next morning.
“The next day they woke up, a lot of things happened. My aunt passed out. My uncle, he’s claustrophobic, he had a panic attack. People were running everywhere,” he told the co-hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino. . “One of my younger cousins, she fell and was stepped on several times… everyone was dehydrated and no one had [a] charge on their phone. So there is no way for us to communicate directly with them. “
He said his family was turned away at the airport at the last minute because of their papers and was told “it was not in order”.
