Mando and Grogu take flight.

The Mandalorian season 2 continued Disney plus Friday, as Episode 6 hit the streaming service. In the wake of Baby Yoda’s reveal last week real name and origins, former Jedi Ahsoka Tano sent Mando (Pedro Pascal) to the planet Tython. There, little Grogu can reach out through the Force, potentially reaching a master who can train him.

Episode 6 is rather creepily titled The Tragedy – we all went “Oh oh”, right? – and directed by Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and Alita: the angel of battle) and written by series creator Jon Favreau.

Let’s climb SPOILERS mountain.

Boba Fett reborn

After the Razor Crest lands on Tython and Grogu starts reaching out with the Force, a second ship arrives – Slav I. You might recognize this as the formidable ship of Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison). We already knew he was alive and that he knew Mando had acquired his armor on Tatooine. Turns out he decided to do it at the most dramatic moment possible.

Boba just wants to get this armor back and has recruited assassin Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) to help him get it. Last time we saw her, she had been shot in the intestine and left to die in the sands of Tatooine, but we learn that Boba was the mysterious figure who approached her following this incident. He fixed his belly with cybernetic parts, and now they’re super mercenary pals.

Boba and Fennec’s negotiations for armor are interrupted by the arrival of Imperial troop carriers, forcing them to kick all kinds of butt. Boba initially destroys the Stormtroopers in this Tusken Raider outfit (it turns out the gaffi staff is quite effective), but decides to anticipate any further negotiation and grabs his armor on the Razor Crest.

Good thing too, as an Imperial cruiser destroys Mando’s ship with an orbital strike soon after. Bye bye Razor Crest, you were basically Millennium Falcon from this show and you will be missed.

Reunited with his armor, Boba becomes the Boba Fett we have always dreamed of. He easily takes out the Stormtroopers and uses a rocket to take down the two fleeing troop carriers.

Unfortunately, Imperial Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) sends his Black soldiers to snatch the vulnerable Grogu before Mando and his new buddies can reach the little guy.
