MIAMI GARDENS, Florida –Quarter-rear By Eriq King did not play in Miami’s victory over Central Connecticut State on Saturday with a shoulder injury.

King’s status is in question for the next game against Virginia in five days.

“He’s limited in some of his movements and movements,” said head coach Manny Diaz. “The plan was to give it a little bit of time and see how it sets in, and then we would have an idea that I would imagine this week. A quick turnaround so we need to get a feel for reps in practice and stuff. J probably won. I don’t know until Monday or later in the week. “

King injured his pitcher’s shoulder in a 38-17 loss to Michigan State on September 18. He did not train before the CCSU game, but was on the sidelines.

King threw for 767 yards and three touchdowns while adding 96 rushing yards with seven turnovers (four interceptions) in the first three games.

Tyler Van Dyke threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns on his first start while substitute Jake Garcia threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns.

“It’s a guess now (whether a double quarter system would be an option against Virginia,” Diaz said. “We feel good for both guys and neither of the two deserves to play. It’s a quick turnaround, we have to see where D “Eriq is present and whatever gives us the best chance of winning is what we will do.”

Miami (2-2, 0-0 ACC) opens the ACC game after a tough non-conference list. Virginia (2-2, 0-2) has lost the last two games, losing to conference opponents North Carolina and Wake Forest.
