The Marietta College Alumni Association will recognize Hall of Honor, Distinguished Alumni, Outstanding Young Alumni, Honorary Alumni and Liz Tribett MCAA award winners at the MCAAA 2021 Awards Ceremony on October 23 at Marietta College.
A reception breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 10 a.m. at Christy Mall.
The Alumni Association’s most prestigious award, the Hall of Honor Award, recognizes individuals who exemplify extraordinary characteristics that reflect the best of the Marietta experience through achievement in their profession, service to the college, service to their community and / or contribution to humanity. This year’s recipients are T. Grant Callery ’68, John Beale ’71, Roger Markfield ’63 and Dale Wartluft ’63.
¯ T. Grant Callery ’68 is a retired financial services executive and executive vice president and general counsel of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in Bethesda, Maryland.
¯ John Beale ’71 is a diplomat and former US Ambassador, Head of Investments for the World Bank and Commercial Banker for Chase Manhattan Bank and Bank of America in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
¯ Roger Markfield ’63 was a creative and visionary retail apparel director, with extensive experience in national brands, from Sunny Isle, Florida.
¯ Dale Wartluft ’63 is an innovator and leader in management consulting and a former executive at Ernst & Young of Dunwoody, Georgia.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented to an alumnus who has accomplished significant accomplishments, made outstanding contributions in their field, or distinguished themselves by serving the community, state or nation. The 2020 recipient is Linda J. Showalter ’79 from Marietta and the 2021 recipients are Malcolm Doldron ’99 from Brookline, Mass., And Kathleen Murphy ’82 from Cohasset, Mass.
The Outstanding Young Alumni Award is presented to an alumnus who graduated 15 years or less ago, who has made significant achievements in business or professional life, and / or who has rendered outstanding service to the college or at the MCAA. The 2020 recipient is Eric G. Dowler ’07 from Marietta and the 2021 recipients are C. Taylor Myers ’15 from Beallsville and Patrick Tegge ’14 from Glouster.
Each year, the Honorary Alumni Award is presented to an individual who is not an alumnus, but who has rendered specific and meritorious service in the name of the quality and advancement of the college and the MCAA. The 2020 recipient is Dr. Gloria M. Stewart from East Wake, NH, and the 2021 recipient is Dr. Roger Pitasky from Marietta.
The Liz Tribett MCAA Award is presented to individuals deemed deserving of recognition for their service at Marietta College. The 2020 recipient is Gregory L. Black ’81 of Marietta, and the 2021 award is shared by Ken and Betty Stollar of Marietta.
