Martha Crowter, 99, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021 at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home in Gloversville. She was born in her family home in Mayfield, NY on April 1, 1922, daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie Rosa Wilson.
Martha is a lifetime resident of the area and has attended local schools. She enjoyed shopping and camping with her husband. She was a lovely cook. She looked after her husband, children and family like no other.
On July 20, 1940, she married Walter Robert Crowter, they shared a union of almost 47 years until his death in 1987.
Survivors include son, William R. Crowter of Mayfield, daughters, Lillian Barr of Mayfield and Beverly Greenfield of Gloversville; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren; siblings, Bernice Baird, Ruth Schrader, Rita Van Avery and Pearl Shannon. Many nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
In addition to her beloved husband, Walter R. Crowter, she is predeceased by her children, Dwaine Crowter and Linda Craig; siblings, Cola Wilson, George Wilson, Glenn Wilson, Gladys Wilson. Douglas Wilson and Jennie Tanner.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Interment to follow at King Cemetery, Town of Northampton.
