Masked ‘Too Tall Bandit’ robs another southern bank in series of 16 heists

A serial thief nicknamed the “Too Tall Bandit” robbed another bank in the south, according to the FBI.

The Too Tall Bandit struck again on November 27, Black Friday, at United Community Bank in Etowah, North Carolina, the FBI said.

According to a press release, the unknown serial criminal is believed to have robbed at least 16 banks in Tennessee and the Carolinas.

The FBI said it was trying to determine if the suspect was linked to other bank robberies.

Witnesses described the Too Tall Bandit as a white male of about 40, measuring between 6′-6’6 “and weighing over 200 lbs. He may have brown eyes.

Aside from his height, the suspect is known to wear full disguises – his face has never been seen.

The thief also walks with a limp in his right leg and speaks in a deep voice.

“In each flight, the suspect is heavily disguised with a mask, coat and gloves,” the FBI wrote. “He is armed with a black handgun and often jumps over the cashier’s counter.”

The FBI is offering a reward of $ 15,000 to help identify the suspect.
