Matt Damon is responding to the backlash he received over the weekend after saying interview remarks were taken out of context.
The “Stillwater” actor, 50, clarified that he had just stopped using “f-slur” after being berated by one of his daughters. Damon is quoted in an interview with the Sunday Times as saying the offensive insult was “commonly used as a child, with a different application.”
He claimed that his daughter had actually written him a “treatise” on “how this word is dangerous”.

Damon did not specify which of his four daughters with his wife, Luciana Barroso, was the one who drafted the treatise that persuaded him to change his vocabulary. He has three daughters Isabella, 15, Gia, 12, and Stella, 10. Damon is also the father of his 23-year-old stepdaughter Alexia, whom Barroso had from a previous relationship.
A representative for Damon did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
