Matthew McConaughey isn’t in extremes, at least not in politics … and that’s why he says intolerance and condescension must end, and he has a solution.
MC jumped on it Russell brandThe ‘Under the Skin’ podcast, and they were talking politics … both here in the United States and across the pond. Russell sees a bunch of similarities when it comes to vitriol for “the other side.”
This is what motivated Matt … suggesting the trick is to meet in the middle, which seems impossible, but listen to it.
For starters, he wants to find a way to measure the science behind each party’s views and values, like actually measuring it. It is somewhat difficult to understand exactly what he means, but he seems to be talking about quantifying how liberal opinions / policies and their conservative counterparts have benefited the country as a whole over time.
After that, Matt says that each side will have to recognize that their fellow Americans across the way have value, and that even if they don’t agree with everything they believe … that their principles and their principles. views are worth something in themselves.
Matthew passes on the blue ticks of Twitter and other so-called liberal elites on the shores of this country, saying they are intolerant of the right – but all the same, he has criticism for the right as well.
He also suggests that the media on both sides isn’t painting a fair picture … and that’s why average Joe and Jane don’t believe what they read and hear.
