May 1, International Museum Day and Wedding Season Arrives at Animal Crossing: New Horizons
In the Animal Crossing ™: New horizons game, time flies like in real life. This means that the seasons will change, different insects and fish might hang out on your island, and fun events are looming on the horizon. Whether you experienced these events last year or are experiencing them for the first time this year, here is a look at what is happening over the next two months.
To participate in the events, you will need to download a free update available on April 28e. We’ll talk about this a bit later in the article if you need help!
Events to come
May 1 (April 29 – May 7): Use your May 1 ticket and visit a rather interesting island between April 29 and May 7. These tickets are for one-time use, so plan your trip accordingly. Have a good flight!
International Museum Day (May 18 – May 31st): To celebrate International Museum Day, players can participate in a stamp rally between May 18 and May 31. After speaking to Blathers and receiving a special stamp car, players can admire fish, insects, fossils, and artwork while collecting stamps at the museum’s various exhibits.
Wedding season (June 1 – June 30th): Ever since Reese and Cyrus got married in June, it’s now their tradition to take wedding photos on Harvey’s Island every June. Meet them on the island and help take some adorable photos. Some decorations go a long way!
Additionally, wedding season-themed furniture and fashion items will be available in Nook Shopping and Able Sisters throughout the month. Check them out before they turn.
Seasonal items As always, please check out Nook Shopping for new seasonal items in May and June. You will find a selection of items based on Mother’s Day, Rolling Cheese and more!
How to update your game
It’s quite possible that your game has updated already, but it’s easy to check. Simply select the game icon from the HOME menu, press the + button and select Software Update (internet connection required). If you need to update you may be prompted to restart the game. Once you are all updated, simply return to your island.
If it’s the day of an event and the event doesn’t show up for you, don’t worry. Try to restart the game when you are connected to the Internet. Please note that changing your system clock will not trigger the events.
