INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (KTRK) – Health officials in Indiana have issued a warning regarding measles exposure to anyone likely to have visited a Chuy's restaurant at College Station, in Texas.

The Indiana State Department of Health has confirmed a case of measles in northern Indiana.

The ISDH said anyone who visited Chuy's restaurant on Harvey Road at College Station on March 29 would have been exposed.

There is no case of measles at College Station.

Health officials in Brazos County said those who ate at Chuy on March 29 should monitor their health.

What are the symptoms of measles?

A person infected with measles will begin to experience high fever, cough, runny nose and watery, red eyes between seven and 14 days after infection, according to the US National Library of Medicine.

Several days after the onset of symptoms, patients may have white spots inside the mouth. A rash then starts, starting on the patient's face and possibly spreading along the body. The rashes initially appear as uniform red dots, but they can also produce smaller raised bumps, and the spots may join as the rash spreads.

According to the World Health Organization, deaths from measles are usually due to complications such as diarrhea-related dehydration, respiratory infections and brain swelling infection called encephalitis.
