“Covid rupture cases on the rise among those vaccinated,” headlines a headline in an NBC News article published Friday.
However, as the caption points out, “the 125,682 ‘revolutionary’ cases in 38 states represent less than 0.08% of the 164.2 million people and more fully vaccinated since January.”
Only about half of Americans are vaccinated against Covid-19, as federal, state and local governments have struggled to convince a large portion of the public to get vaccinated. Still, this is the headline that NBC News chose.

In addition, Friday, The Washington Post had similar, though less blatant, framing for one of his stories:
“CDC study shows that three-quarters of those infected in the Massachusetts covid-19 epidemic have been vaccinated.” (The title was updated later.)
Please don’t do this.

Public health officials have told us from the start that vaccines are not perfect and that there will be groundbreaking cases. We have been told that the Pfizer vaccine is about 94% effective, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is about 66% effective, etc. The breakthrough of NBC cases and the To post report were quite expected.
Friday also, The New York Times tweeted that the Delta variant may spread by vaccinated people as easily as by unvaccinated people, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control.

On the one hand, this is clearly a misleading and hysterical title. 125,000 vaccinated people may have tested positive, but over 150 million have not. or
