The FDA has announced that Teva Pharmaceuticals USA has extended its voluntary recall of certain drugs for hypertension.

The drug was originally recalled on April 25, 2019. This extended booster includes six lots of bulk losartan potassium USP tablets (two batches of 50 mg and four batches of 100 mg) due to the detection of an impurity.

The affected losartan potassium tablets recalled are described as follows:

  • Losartan Potassium Tablets, USP 50 mg, are green, film-coated, oval-shaped, biconvex tablets with the inscription "LK 50" on one side and ">" on the other side .
  • Losartan Potassium Tablets, USP 100 mg, are oval-shaped, film-coated, dark green, biconvex tablets with "LK100" on one side and ">" on the other.

Health officials recommend that you contact your doctor before making any changes to your medications.
