Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly had one hell of a trip to Costa Rica.
The “Jennifer’s Body” star was revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday that the couple flew to Central America to drink ayahuasca, a psychoactive tea, in “an appropriate setting, with natives”. The experience induces auditory and visual hallucinations and is believed to treat various ailments like anxiety, trauma, and more.
Fox explained that they traveled to a place known to host celebrities seeking a spiritual journey, but found it was just the isolated jungle.
“So I thought it was like glamping, like it was going to be some kind of five star experience,” she joked.
“But you get there and you’re really in the middle of the jungle, and you can’t eat after about 1 p.m. You have to walk very far to get your water, and you can’t shower because they ‘in period drought, “Fox recalls.” There was nothing glamorous about it, and it’s all part of making you vulnerable, so you kind of surrender yourself to the experience. “
Fox explained that the ceremony began with the group, which included around 20 other people, vomiting up their stomach contents while drinking lemongrass tea.
“And you have to throw up a certain amount until they let you get back with everyone else, then you’re like cheering everyone on while they’re throwing up,” she said of the experience, admitting that she and rapper “Bloody Valentine” were skeptical of throwing up in front of strangers until they realized it was “such a good bonding experience”.
The former “Transformers” star said the ceremony lasts three nights, but on her second night she went to hell for all eternity in a hallucination.
“Just knowing that it is eternity is torture in itself, because there is no beginning, middle or end. So you have a real ego death, ”she shared.
Fox, 35, said the experience goes beyond talk therapy or hypnotherapy “because it goes straight into your soul and takes you to the psychological prison you lock yourself into.”
“So this is your own version of hell, and I was definitely there,” Fox added.
