Meghan Markle has reportedly changed the names she provided on her son’s birth certificate. She decided to withdraw her first names “Rachel Meghan”, leaving only “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex”. Royal experts called the decision “remarkable” and “unprecedented”.
The move, reported by The Sun, could be seen as a touching tribute to the late Princess Diana.
This is because she always used “Her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales”.
Archie, Meghan and Harry’s only child, was born on May 6, 2019.
Her birth was registered on May 7, with Meghan using both given names on the certificate.
But the couple decided to change the official document on June 5.
Lady Colin Campbell, who spotted the amendment, said: “It’s extraordinary and raises all kinds of questions about what the Sussexes thought.”
Expert Ingrid Seward said: “For a royal changing a birth certificate is unprecedented, but removing first names is remarkable.
“Maybe that’s another sign that they were desperate to do something different from the Cambridges.

This was discovered during the couple’s holiday edition of their podcast, Archewell Audio, shared on Spotify shortly after Christmas.
At the end of the 30-minute clip, Meghan and Harry introduce their son and encourage him to say ‘Happy New Year’ to listeners.
It was the first time the 20-month-old had spoken in public.
Invited by his mother, who asks Archie if he’s having fun, he says “Fun!” before saying “happy new year” with a little help from her parents.
