Mets may not be done.
Following the team’s successful trade to Francisco Lindor (which also included Carlos Carrasco), Mets president Sandy Alderson did not deny the possibility that the Mets may continue to hunt for the stars this offseason.
“We are always hungry,” he said journalists when asked if the Mets still have an appetite for another big move.
Alderson’s words leave open the possibility that the team could still recruit star outfielder George Springer, who was seen as their top priority off-season.
At Lindor, the Mets won a four-time All Star and a career .285 hitter widely regarded as one of the league’s best shortstops at 27.
The Lindor acquisition was not the Mets’ first major undertaking this offseason.
They previously signed 2019 All-Star wide receiver James McCann for a four-year, $ 40.6 million contract and right-hander Trevor May for a two-year, $ 15.5 million contract.
