Arts and crafts retailer Michaels seeks to fill 400 seasonal positions in Southern California as the company prepares for the 2021 holiday season.

The local hiring is part of a larger campaign to bring 20,000 seasonal workers in the United States and Canada to work in its stores and distribution centers.

The company will host a hiring event in U.S. stores from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, and another hiring event will take place in September in Canadian stores. US applicants can also apply online at michaels.com/jobs.

Positions are available for positions such as Salesperson, Assistant Store Manager, Replenishment Team Member, and Cashier / Storekeeper. Data ziprecruiter.com show that the average hourly wage for Michaels workers in California is $ 17.23.

Michaels said his seasonal employees receive competitive salaries, flexible hours and a 30% discount on store merchandise. Last year, the company converted more than half of its seasonal in-store positions to regular positions after the holidays.

Many of these team members work in store management teams, Michaels said.
