Michigan residents aged 18 and over can locate their immunization records in the state’s medical records system through a new public portal.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) launched the Michigan Immunization Portal.

Michigan adults with immunization records published in the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), including COVID-19 immunization, will be able to locate their own record online and download, save, or print that information. The portal was funded by grants from the CDC and was officially launched in mid-August.

“We want to make sure that Michiganders can access their immunization records as easily as possible because it is important health information,” said Elizabeth Hertel, director of the MDHHS. “The Michigan Immunization Portal allows them to find their records from their computer or smartphone and keep a copy for their records. This will also allow anyone who has misplaced their COVID-19 vaccination card to print a vaccination record. “

To ensure confidentiality and that individuals can only access their own immunization records, Michiganders should create a MILogin account at Michigan.gov/MiImmsportal and upload a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. Access to the portal is free.

Immunizations provided in another state or country may not be included in an individual’s record on the portal. If a person’s immunization record cannot be found, records can still be requested at a doctor’s office or local health department.

As the portal is only available for those 18 years of age or older, parents will not be able to download their child’s immunization records. Parents can contact their child’s doctor’s office or local health department to get a copy of their immunization record.
