LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – According to the Centers for Disease Control Prevention, seven children died of the flu this week, bringing to 41 the death toll in children during the 2018-2019 influenza season.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed an influenza-related pediatric death for the current influenza season.
According to the MDHHS, influenza activity in Michigan remains widespread.
Since October 1, 51 influenza-related hospitalizations in children and 280 in adults have been reported in Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Genesee and Washtenaw counties.
