Third-party developers have released new assets and content for Microsoft Flight Simulator, including a preview of upcoming aircraft.

Third-party developers have released new assets and content for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

We start with IndiaFoxtEcho which offers a new look at the F-35 Lightning II as well as a development update.

“Still VERY preliminary… because the F-35B is clearly not finished in these photos, but we thought they were too cool not to share. … So here are the images of the first sea trials of the F-35B at MSFS!

The USS America is based on the ship we released for P3D in the past and will either be included in the F-35B package or released as free software. Currently this is a static landable landscape object – at the moment it is placed not too far from NAS Point Mugu, but we are considering placing it in several places around the world in different configurations (if you have any suggestions on where to place the ship Let us know !!!)…

As for the F-35 itself, it is advancing at a steady pace … The exterior model of the F-35A is now complete (except the back-up stock), the F-35 is 80% complete (cockpit and cargo doors missing) and we have just started the conversion / improvement of the F-35C model.

The virtual cockpit is experiencing some delays… because we had to remodel a number of parts to achieve the desired level of detail. We can’t show it yet, but we’re very happy about it.

Next is Hype Performance Group (known for their excellent free Airbus H135 software) which released a video update for their Airbus H145 helicopter, showing off its lighting, decals, and more.

Next we move on to FlightSimGames’ Pilatus Porter PC-6, which also received a large number of videos showing a variety of features and a few screenshots giving a glimpse of the dashboard lighting at night.

Sim Skunk Works also made a development update for their F-104 Starfighter including a video after a period of silence,

“The SKUNK WORKS SIM is pleased to present its NASARR 15 radar which will be used on the new SSW TF-104G for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
The radar like the cockpit is still in WIP but very promising.
Radar operations are based on SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) and reflectivity maps which can be used locally or downloaded in time from our cloud server.
These maps are used to calculate reflectivity intensity and radar shadows rendered on the radar screen.
As Italy, Germany and UK are covered by these cards, more countries will be added later.
The radar can operate in air-to-air, air-to-ground (both pencil and cut), contour map, and terrain avoidance modes.

Today’s first release comes next, with Orbx launching its historic EU Great Britain Central package.

It’s now available on Orbx Direct for $ 13.35.

Finally, Axonos released Jackson Hole Airport (KJAC) with a trailer, which you can watch below.

You can find it in the developer’s Gumroad store for $ 12.99.

High quality render of KJAC Jackson Hole Airport

  • Apron and buildings detailed with PBR textures
  • Custom ground vehicles specially designed for Jackson Hole
  • High resolution and detailed ground textures
  • Static planes for both general aviation stands and commercial doors
  • Detailed landscaping
  • Custom night lighting
