The security changes fix various speculative runtime channel vulnerabilities, called microarchitecture data (MDS) sampling for 32-bit x86 versions of Windows. Intel handled the VECs in issue – CVE-2019-11091, CVE-2018-12126, CVE-2018-12127, CVE-2018-12130 – in May.

The update, released together with version 17763.737 for the Windows 10 October 2018 (v1809) update, also includes security enhancements for various Windows components.

Microsoft indicates that its update corrects a high CPU usage issue associated with SearchUI.exe reported by a small number of users who have disabled Web search through Windows Desktop Search.

But his fix has nixed SearchUI.exe for some. Those who claim that SearchUI.exe, part of Cortana, do not launch after installing KB4515384.
