In four months, Windows 7 will reach the end of its life and will no longer receive security updates.
This will be a problem for some companies that still use the 10-year old operating system. As of January 14, 2020, Windows 7 computers will no longer receive security patches, which will make businesses vulnerable to malware.
According to the latest data, about 37% of all desktop and enterprise computers still use Windows 7, with Windows 10 slightly ahead of 41%.

A little published document published by Microsoft tells leading customers with Windows E5, Microsoft The 365 E5 and Government E5 subscriptions will benefit from extended security updates for one year at no additional cost. After the past year, Microsoft will charge $ 50 each for each enterprise device to receive updates for a second year and $ 100 per device for a third year.
Eligible subscriptions must remain active until the end of the year and throughout the extended security update period to continue receiving security updates, the document says.
But for all other subscribers to other Windows subscriptions, Microsoft will start charging as soon as Windows 7 stops being supported in January, with a final shutdown for extended security updates in January 2023.
The software and services giant started in March warning users that they will soon stop receiving critical and necessary security updates. Microsoft recommends that users upgrade to Windows 10 or obtain extended security updates as a "last resort."
