Microsoft's Edge Browser for Mac Now Available in Preview

Microsoft teased its Edge browser for macOS earlier this month, and the company officially authorizes Mac users to download a preview version. While Edge for Mac had fled a little early in the Microsoft Build Conference, the company officially supports Canary's Edge for Mac daily releases for Mac OS 10.12 and higher. Microsoft says that the weekly versions of the Dev channel will be available "very soon" and you can use them side by side.

Microsoft is working to support keyboard shortcuts for Mac. The company also adds touch bar support, with options for multimedia control sliders and the ability to switch tabs from the touchbar. The rounded corners of the tabs are also available in the macOS Edge version and Microsoft plans to bring this same user interface to the Windows version.

Microsoft has also announced new privacy controls for Edge Chromium and a new Collections feature that collects images, text, and general notes from the web. These new features are not yet available in Edge's Mac or Windows versions, but they may begin testing in the coming weeks. You can download the Edge for Mac preview from the Microsoft Edge site.
