The Cincinnati Reds were patiently awaiting Mike Moustakas’ return to their roster, and it finally materialized happily on Friday. Moose had been hampered by a sore heel / foot for almost three months, but jumped straight into the Reds’ lineup and immediately started showing why he signed a record-breaking free agent deal in the first place.
He did a trio of doubles, scored twice, dived headfirst down a slide for one, hit a pair of ribs and rewarded manager David Bell’s decision to place him like the starting 3B in place of Eugenio Suarez in difficulty. .

Honorable mentions are due to: Tucker Barnhart, who hit a 3-point dinger; Jesse Winker, who scored, doubled, walked twice and scored twice; Kyle Farmer, who helped put a trio of runs across the plate with another 2-stroke night; Jonathan India, who put on another dinger; and Wade Miley, who’s just cool as hell, man.
