The Pittsburgh Steelers are undefeated and escaped Dallas with a 24-19 win over the Cowboys in Week 9, but all of the Steelers fans held their breath when they saw Ben Roethlisberger get tackled awkwardly and stand up while holding his knee.
Roethlisberger is as tough as he gets and was able to stick around for the rest of that ride, topping it off with a touchdown pass to James Washington, but Roethlisberger made his way to the locker room and missed the final practice of the half when Cam Sutton forced a fumble which was picked up by Minkah Fitzpatrick.
The sight of Mason Rudolph at the quarterback brought back bad memories for Steelers fans, and although Roethlisberger returned in the second half and played a terrific game, many wondered if the injury would continue.
After the game, Mike Tomlin downplayed any significant injury to Roethlisberger during his post-game press conference. This by Teresa Varley of Steelers.com:
Coach Mike Tomlin said there was no major injury today. Said Ben Roethlisberger was able to return. Just added bumps and bruises.

While Tomlin will likely know more and speak about the injury on Tuesday for his weekly press conference, it’s clear the Steelers need Roethlisberger if they have any hope of an AFC North win, a bye in the first round and bring their seventh Super Bowl back to Pittsburgh.
So far, no news about Roethlisberger’s apparent knee injury is good news.
